Do you may remember a cartoon strip called The Other Side? It was rather bizarre, outlandish, even crazy, and yet very entertaining and funny, and so the title was appropriate for the theme of the contents and story.
Can you imagine all the different concepts and ideas when you think about the words "the other side"? What does it mean to you? Does it mean to get from here to there? Is it a destination? A goal? Some outcome you desire?
Have you thought about the other side of you?!
We all know there are two sides to us! There is the confident, secure, happy, fulfilled, energetic and loving side, and then there is the fearful, angry, anxious, insecure and unhappy side. You get the picture.
Wouldn't it be great if we could just get rid of the other side? The feelings we don't want, the results we don't want to see again, etc., etc., etc.
An Aikido Master was surrounded by five of his students and asked them to all attack. Within moments, all five students were on the floor and admitted defeat. The students stood up, bowed to their master and exclaimed, "Master, how is it that you never lose your balance?" The Master replied, "I do lose my balance, but I recover so quickly that you do not notice!"
The question is not whether life will present you the other side, but how quickly you recover when the side you don't want shows up! Life can be bizarre, crazy, and traumatic, but it can also be fun, entertaining and even exciting!
So, it's not a matter of whether you will experience the other side, but rather, what are the tools you use to help you recover more quickly? How quickly can our lives or business change if we could identify and sharpen those tools?
Sometimes it just takes a shift in perspective! Remember, a coach will tell you what you don't want to hear and show you what you don't want to see!
