When was the last time you set a goal, read them and then lacked the ability to take action because you “just didn’t feel like it”! You’ve probably experienced this more times than you care to acknowledge.
We set our goals, we plan our action steps and then either fear or apathy enters our consciousness. Often times we want to have the feeling to take the action. This is normal, however, if you’ve been through some challenges, crisis, or problem, you probably noticed that the feeling isn’t always available to take the next step.
This is where the identification of your values will help, especially if they’re tied to a worthy goal. In success philosophy, there is a saying, BE, DO, HAVE…but sometimes the BE just isn’t available.
Take an action anyway, any action, even if you don’t “feel like it”. As you begin to take steps, often times the feeling will come…sometimes a little…often times a lot! Why is this?
A body in motion tends to stay in motion, and a body at rest tends to stay at rest! Take a step…any step…it doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you take a step! It doesn’t even matter if the step has nothing to do with your goal! Any step is a step in the right direction because it puts you in motion. This will help you generate the feeling that you want and you’ll be naturally inclined to take steps that do align with your goals!
Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not! And don’t let anyone tell you it is. Know that it’s not easy, which is why, when you take the step, you’ll be rewarded in more ways that you can even imagine through greater self-esteem and a greater presence in your consciousness!
