There are four stages to learn just about anything. See how they apply in your life:
Phase 1 - Unconsciously incompetent...means, you don't know that you don't know, and you don't care. When you're two years old, you can't tie your shoe, you don't know you can't tie your shoe and you don't care.
Phase 2 - Consciously incompetent...means, now you know that you don't know, and you care! When you're four years old, you watch your friend tie his/her shoe, you realize you can't, and you want to!
Phase 3 - Consciously competent...means, you know...but it’s new or hard. When you're five years old, you practice making that loop to pull the other shoe lace through...that was tough! So you do it, but you struggle and think. Hmmm.
Phase 4 - Unconsciously competent - means, you do it so well, you don't even think about it. You now tie your shoes while drinking coffee, reading the paper and you don't even know how or when they were tied!
As we all learn and grow, making strides and learning is easier when the sun is shining, the kids and family are healthy, business is good, rewarding and fulfilling...life's pretty good!
What happens and what do we learn when the detour sign hits our path? Sometimes all learning ceases, survival is the only focus and concern...
When growing a business, focusing on the above will move you faster toward your goals...find out what you want to learn...you can do it!
When growing you, the path isn't quite as straight.
