Easy or Hard

Have you noticed that people often complicate their lives! If something is easy, we simply put it off to another time saying that either it will not take any time and therefore, it is not worth planning for, or, it’s so simple that we can do it anytime! When we call things "easy", we sometimes procrastinate and we end up not doing even the simple things.

Curiously enough, this also applies to the things we call "hard". We set up barriers before we even begin! One of the basic facts of life is if you don't start, you don't stand a chance of getting there! Sounds so simple...right? Yet, there is an expression that may help you get started on whatever you want to create. "If you're failing to plan...you're planning to fail"!

Others may refer to this as the paralysis of analysis. It's so easy to sit in the comfort zones of our lives and rationalize about what we could or should do if we had more information or if the circumstances were just different. If you don't take the first step, you'll never take the second!

Make a “to do” list at the beginning or the end of your day. Write down the simplest of things and check it off when completed. This action step will train your mind to accomplish whatever you write down!

Try it...See what happens!

Future Diary
In 1983, Mark Victor Hansen came to a Markson Management Services seminar and handed everyone a book with nothing in it. He called it Future Diary.

He then proceeded to tell us to write down everything we wanted as if it were already true...hence future diary.

I remember writing 5 things down that I really wanted, never thinking or believing that any of them would come true. All five did!

In Their Own Words ...

"I have had the pleasure of knowing Alan for more than 10 years. First as his coach, then as his colleague... all which developed into a dear friendship.

I count myself lucky to know and be connected with Alan. There are few people that can coach another coach! Alan is one crystal clear voice that I can truly hear, and integrate what he says. As a coach Alan asks powerful and revealing questions. There are no others like him!"
